On Interaction:
We thought it was going to be a problem but when we came in everyone just gelled straight away.
(Younger Adult Female)
… I wasn’t sure what to think of it because of younger and older people mixing. When we all got together in the end it was great everyone talked to everyone.
(Younger Adult Female)
My big thing was meeting all the younger people here, because I thought they would not have much time for older people … they were afraid of us and we were afraid of them.
(Older Adult Female)
When we came in first I thought we wouldn’t get along and we would have nothing to talk about – but then we really got on and it was
really easy to get along.
(Younger Adult Female)
It’s been great to see despite the common misconception that they are not wild and reckless.
(Older Adult Male)
On Perception:
We thought they would be like our parents but they were not. They were cracked in the head.
(Younger Adult Female)
On The Experience:
It has been brilliant to be able to talk to them. At first we did not know what we would talk about, weather, hip replacements and stuff, but we have been talking about things you would talk about with your friends.
(Younger Adult Female)
I really enjoyed it. They have a great sense of humour and we get on really well.
(Younger Adult Female)
The girls have been terrific. It’s been a good experience and has made us feel young again.
(Older Adult Male)
I would say the friendship we made with the younger generation have been really important to me.
(Older Adult Male)
I have a big family and thought I knew about teenagers but they are so different. They are really lovely.
(Older Adult Female)
I never really worked with young people. It’s been a wonderful experience for me.

On Responsibility:
I think they take responsibility. We needed the Plough and the Stars flag and Lisa went off and made a green flag with a harp on it and then one of the other girls got in touch with SIPTU and then got the actual Plough and the Stars flag fast-tracked down from Dublin. I thought it was fantastic that somebody would actually go to that trouble and take responsibility and do it.
(Older Adult Female)
It is wonderful and everybody pulls their weight.
(Younger Adult Female)
It encourages the younger students to take responsibility and it gives them a chance to express themselves through their creativity.
(Older Adult Male)
Everyone pitched in and played their part.
(Older Adult Male)
We came in on days we had off.
(Younger Adult Female)
We all participated as a group and we all helped each other out.
